TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following contract is legally binding and provides details of your rights regarding the purchase of indoor furniture from Matthew Paul Furniture. It is our responsibility to supply you with goods that meet your consumer rights. If you have any concerns that we have not met our legal obligations, please contact us.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Once you have received your purchase confirmation, you will have entered into a purchase contract with us. In the unlikely event that there is a pricing error or the products are no longer available, we will notify you of this. In this instance, you will not receive a confirmation email and therefore there will be no contract between us. Currently, we only ship items to mainland UK and there will be an additional shipping cost for any order to Scotland and Northern Ireland.

We ensure our products are personally quality checked before leaving our workshop and in perfect condition but please inspect your furniture on arrival and do not accept unless you are certain they have arrived in good condition. If you sign for the goods and they turn out to be damaged, the courier company will not assume liability. In order to keep your furniture in the best condition possible during transit, they are carefully packaged to avoid damage. If you wish to return your order for any reason we can only accept the products if returned in their original condition and with the packaging in tact. It is also important to keep the packaging until you are 100% satisfied with the order; if damage has occurred, the delivery company will need to inspect the packaging.

RETURNS & EXCHANGE POLICY
If you wish to cancel your order you must do so in writing by emailing us at info@matthew-paul.co.uk within the first 24 hours of purchasing.

Please ensure you are fully satisfied with any dimensions and the full product information before placing an order. Any questions about our products, please do email us first to ensure you will be happy with your purchase! If the item has been damaged during transit, please keep your item in the original packaging and inspect upon delivery. We will do everything we can to help in this circumstance - please send photographs of the damage ASAP to our email address with your order number, and within the first 24 hours of receiving your parcel. In this instance, we would be able to provide a replacement or repair the damage free of charge.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all measurements of the Furniture purchased are checked to ensure accessibility. Any item of Furniture that we are unable to deliver as a result of problems involving access that were not mentioned in writing at the time of order will not be refunded.

For items that are made to order, there will be no charge for cancellation or amendments to orders if notification is received in writing within 24 hours of placing the original order. All amendments to orders must be notified in writing by email at info@matthew-paul.co.uk

We will not be able to refund any payment after that time. Furniture made to order (either standard size, custom and/or bespoke) may only be returned for a full refund or exchanged in the unlikely event of items being found to be faulty. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they return to us and this causes the damage or deterioration of the products, we will charge you for the reduction in value. For security reasons, refunds are given by the same method that the original payment was made by.

HANDMADE
All Matthew Paul Furniture products are 100% handmade and due to the natural materials used, each product may vary slightly from the product photograph. Every piece of wood is completely unique in terms of grain, colour, markings and knots but we do our absolute best to carefully select and match the wood so our products are consistent. We use high quality, sustainable and locally sourced hardwoods at all times which has been dried to the correct moisture content. Very occasionally, warping, shrinking or dimensional changes can happen due to wood being a natural, active material and can be affected by moisture, temperature and humidity. If any movement in the wood should occur, making alterations to temperature and moisture usually rectifies this issue. As we are working with natural materials, it is normal to see signs of some movement during its lifetime.
